Are You Using the Compass Project?
The APA Compass Project serves as a unique resource to help all American Airlines pilots navigate the complex and confusing policies and guidelines governing our daily work life. From IOE to reserve to pay comp, Compass provides up-to-date online information for the entire pilot community, as well as personal mentoring to new hire pilots and support for new captains.
Information on the Compass Project programs can be found by selecting the “Compass Project (Pilot Mentoring)” link on the APA Mobile app or the AlliedPilots.org members’ homepage, or by clicking here.
New Hire Support
Our New Hire Program’s sponsors serve as personal mentors to new hire pilots and provide them with the tools and knowledge necessary to optimize their life at American Airlines. This direct personal involvement has greatly enhanced the lives of many of our fellow pilots.
The Captain Support Program is also a great resource for new captains or anyone interested in exploring “best practices” in commercial aviation. Documents such as “Captain Strategies,” “Captain Leadership,” and “Captain Quick Reference Guide” are full of information, suggestions, and strategies designed to complement our pilots’ already extensive skillset.
The Compass Project is not just for new hires and captain upgrades. Excellent resources are available in the Documents Index for pilots in need of a refresher for any reason. These documents are continually updated, providing the most current information possible in our ever-changing work environment.
