Telephone Town Hall Meeting on Dec. 4
The Aeromedical Committee’s Disabled Pilots Awareness Subcommittee (DPASC) will host a Telephone Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 4, beginning at 5 p.m. Central. This call will be open to all pilots.
A few minutes before 5 p.m., all LTD pilots will receive a call from Telephone Town Hall Meeting, which is the vendor that supplies APA with the capability for these teleconferences. The number that will appear in all LTD pilots’ caller ID is 817-302-2171. We encourage all LTD pilots to answer this call.
All pilots may connect to the Telephone Town Hall Meeting via a link that will be posted on the members’ home page of AlliedPilots.org on Dec. 4. Please note that Telephone Town Hall Meeting will soon be converting to HTML from Flash for its audio webcasts, which will solve the issues that some pilots have experienced when trying to connect online via Apple devices.
We will have a full complement of subject-matter experts available during the teleconference. DPASC will continue to host regular teleconferences as part of fulfilling its charter to “provide comprehensive support to all APA pilots and their families from their point of disability until their return to flying status or retirement, whichever comes first.”
LTD Monthly Income Calculator
Also, if you haven’t taken a look at APA’s new Long-Term Disability Monthly Income Calculator yet, we recommend doing so. If you tell the calculator several variables — including your average monthly hours, your accumulated sick hours, and your unused vacation days — it will tell you how much you can expect to be paid for the length of your disability or into retirement, whichever comes first. The calculator will also take into account any income you may receive from APA’s Pilot Occupational Disability and Pilot Mutual Aid programs. Click here to try it.
