APA INFORMATION HOTLINE
This is APA Communications Director Gregg Overman with the APA Information Hotline for Friday, June 9. The following is a joint message from APA President CA Dan Carey and American Airlines Vice President-Flight CA Kimball Stone.
American Airlines has a long and proud history of support for our nation’s service members and veterans, as well as their families. Through our Veterans and Military Initiatives Program, we support many charitable military organizations. One of those organizations is Snowball Express.
Since 2007, American Airlines team members have been an integral part of Snowball Express. Each December, pilots and flight attendants volunteer their time to fly aircraft and crew flights that bring children and spouses of fallen military heroes together for four fun-filled days to help them create new memories and remind them that the sacrifice of their loved one is not forgotten. Team members who have participated in this event tell us that it is life-changing, and our list of volunteers grows annually.
With American’s new uniform, our pilots have told us that they want a way to express their patriotism. We’re proud to introduce a powerful way to do so — and to pay it forward for the children of our fallen military heroes.
Designed especially for American Airlines pilots, the new patriotic lapel pin and tie clasp represent the red, white and blue tail design of our aircraft with contrails incorporating gold stars — symbolic of our nation’s Gold Star families. The tie clasp and lapel pin set is $20, and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit Snowball Express. To order your set, visit www.snowballexpress.org/lapelpin. You will be able to purchase these from your Flight Office in the next few weeks.
This short video with Gary Sinise provides background on the lapel pin and tie clasp, as well as the inspirational story and significance of the $20.00 donation.
Thank you for your support of our service members and veterans. Together, we can continue to make a difference for the children and spouses of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
