Salary Grade:6 (Non-Exempt: APSEA)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 + years of employee benefits experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and other benefits-related laws
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational, writing, grammar and editing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and follow-up skills
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task projects with varying priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to handle sensitive documents and maintain confidentialit

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

  • APA Benefit Plans: Ability to comprehend, effectively communicate, and understand benefit plan language associated with eligibility and special enrollment periods. Responsible for assisting members with eligibility plan questions for all APA-Sponsored Benefit plans; Must maintain detailed call records; Ability to learn database supported by Third Party Administrator (TPA) and work directly with TPA on all eligibility related matters; Ability to resolve inquiries related to contributions
  • Online Benefits System: Primary point of contact for online benefits system; Assist members with enrolling in system and all system inquiries. Ability to create system reports and verify accuracy of system data; work directly with TPA to resolve system related issues; Beneficiary and Dependent system auditor
  • APA Benefit Plan Documents: Ability to understand, update, and interpret Plan language; Provide direct support to Compliance Analyst for all APA-Sponsored Benefit plans (booklets and amendments), as required
  • APA Appeals Process – Support Compliance Analyst with appeals process in preparing and obtaining data/documentation and provide direct support to the BRAB, as required
  • Special Projects: Provide support on special projects, as required
  • Federal and State laws: Ability to research, read, and understand Federal/State laws as it relates to benefits
  • Provide rotating relief for lobby receptionist and perform other functions as directed by Manager, Benefits Director
  • Cross-training and perform other tasks as required
