CLASSIFICATION: Contract Administrator

SALARY GRADE: 10 (Non-Exempt/APSEA)

HIRING DIRECTOR: Mark R. Myers, Director of Pilot Negotiations and Contract Administration

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Five (5) years previous employment with a major airline including Crew Scheduling or similar expenence
  • Knowledge of AA/APA Agreement, Flight Manual Part 1, FAR 121 & 117, pilot pay compensation, pilot training and planning, vacation computation, bidding, TDY, and pilot scheduling variances
  • Knowledge of AA/APA working Collective Bargaining Agreement ("Agreement")
  • Sabre (DECS/FOS) working experience, and PC and required software skills, including Office
  • Excellent listening, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with prior experience resolving challenging issues

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide professional support and service to APA and the pilots of American Airlines
  • Respond to pilot telephone, online (web-based), and email inquiries related to all aspects of the Agreement, record critical facts, and maintain call logs with call details within the applicable
  • Analyze problems and pilot concerns related to the Agreement and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), resolve issues as possible, and advise pilots on possible course(s) of action as appropriate
  • Communicate with Negotiating and Contract Compliance committees and other APA committees, APA Officers and Directors, and APA departments, as well as AA personnel and other third parties, as needed
  • Develop and disseminate comprehensive written summaries of contractual violations or recurring issues to appropriate parties
  • Act as expert witness (SME) at legal hearings and or arbitrations as needed
  • Work closely with and provide support to APA legal staff toward resolving contractual grievances and other issues
  • Performs other duties and projects as directed by the Director, Pilot Negotiations and Contract Administration and or APA leadership
  • Must be available to work various shifts, including weekends and some holidays

This full-time position is located at the APA headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas. Some minimal travel may be required.
