APA DOMICILE ELECTIONS IN MIA, LGA & SFO:
Today was the deadline for receipt of nomination and willingness-to-serve forms for the positions of domicile Chairman and Vice Chairman in Miami, New York and San Francisco.

In Miami, the candidates for Chairman are Captain Tom Frazer, First Officer Scott M. Iovine, First Officer Mike Michaelis and Captain William “Billy” Young. The candidates for Vice Chairman are First Officer Robert Ashby, First Officer Nathan Carriker, First Officer Chris O’Connor, Captain Mark Raynor, Captain Ivan Rivera, First Officer Michael Stone, First Officer Brian Vitale, First Officer Thomas J. Willard and First Officer David T. Yu.

The nomination notice and ballots for both positions will be mailed to the Miami membership on Thursday, July 22. Ballots must be returned by mail and received by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) no later than 9 a.m. Central on Thursday, August 12.

In New York, the candidates for Chairman are Captain Mark Hunnibell, Captain Pete Oborski and Captain Glenn Schafer. The candidates for New York Vice Chairman are First Officer Mike Cummings, First Officer Jason Goldberg and First Officer Andrew Weingram.

APA election procedures dictate a nomination round only when there are four or more candidates. Therefore, the first round of balloting has been eliminated in both the New York Chairman and Vice Chairman elections. Candidates’ resumes for both positions will be mailed to the New York membership on Thursday, Aug. 19. The election notice and ballots will be mailed to the New York membership on Thursday, Aug. 26, and the deadline for ballots to be returned and received by AAA is 9 a.m. Central on Thursday, Sept. 16.

In San Francisco, Captain Stephen Roach was the only candidate for Chairman; therefore, Captain Roach is elected Chairman for a two-year term beginning Nov. 1.

The candidates for San Francisco Vice Chairman are First Officer Bill Boyd and First Officer Pete Lewis. Since no nomination round is necessary, candidates’ resumes will be mailed to the San Francisco membership on Thursday, Aug. 19. The election notice and ballots will be mailed to the San Francisco membership on Thursday, Aug. 26, and the deadline for ballots to be returned and received by AAA is 9 a.m. Central on Thursday, Sept. 16.

We encourage all members in good standing to exercise your right to vote for the candidates of your choosing. As a reminder, all election ballots must be postmarked. There is no provision for hand-delivery.

That’s all we have for today. Thanks for checking this message.
