APA NATIONAL OFFICER RUNOFF ELECTION RESULTS: The American Arbitration Association (AAA) tallied the membership ballots today in the runoff elections for APA President, Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer. A total of 5,218 eligible ballots were cast, representing a voter turnout of 65 percent.
For the office of APA President, the uncertified results are as follows:
* Captain David Bates received 2,785 votes.
* Captain Keith Wilson received 2,419 votes.
The new APA President-elect is Captain David Bates.
For the office of APA Vice President, the uncertified results are as follows:
* Captain Mike Leone received 2,544 votes.
* First Officer Anthony R. Chapman received 2,654 votes.
The new APA Vice President-elect is First Officer Anthony R. Chapman.
For the office of APA Secretary-Treasurer, the uncertified results are as follows:
* Captain William Haug received 2,303 votes.
* First Officer Scott Shankland received 2,886 votes.
The new APA Secretary-Treasurer-elect is First Officer Scott Shankland.
AAA is now validating and certifying the results. We will post the certified results to alliedpilots.org as soon as they become available. A spokesperson for AAA described the unofficial results as "99.9 percent accurate."
The new National Officers-elect take office on July 1 for three-year terms of office. On behalf of the APA leadership, we want to thank every one of the 23 original candidates who stepped up and volunteered to serve the APA membership as National Officers. We would also like to express our appreciation for all of the members who took the time to vote in these elections.
